Innes started ballet lessons aged 3 in Blackford Village Hall. She was spotted at an early age and joined the Royal Ballet School as an Associate student aged 10. She was also an Associate student at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham.

In 2020, Innes successfully auditioned for Moorland International Ballet Academy and moved away to study ballet full time. After her GCSEs Innes secured a place at Northern Ballet School in Manchester. Only just 16, she moved to central Manchester where she now lives and studies, returning to Wedmore in the holidays.

For 6 seasons from 2017-2023, Innes has performed with the National Youth Ballet (NYB), including 4 amazing performances at Sadlers Wells, considered by many the home of dance in the UK. NYB has given her the opportunity to work with many professional choreographers and she was specially selected for a performance with Sheffield Youth Orchestra in 2022.

Update:  Very exciting news! WAF protegee Innes Oliver has been selected to join the National Youth Ballet senior company 2023. Following auditions in Leeds and London, Innes is delighted to join the company for her 6th season.

Please join us all in congratulating Innes – we are very proud of her.

The support of WAF has been pivotal in Innes’s development as a dancer. Coming home and performing for the local audience is very much a treasured way to say thank you.
