Chris Jagger & his band

"Memories & music"

Saturday 14 May 7:30pm (doors open 7pm)

A fitting finale to the 2022 Festival brings one of the most famous names in the rock world back to the Village Hall with his recently published Memoir Talking to Myself AND a brilliant new repertoire of musical works including numbers from his latest album Mixing up the Medicine. Chris Jagger’s ‘double bill event’ will offer a fascinating trawl through his life, including some hilarious anecdotes about life growing up in Dartford with his older brother, Mick. The brothers’ shared experiences, including a lifelong appreciation of the Blues, make riveting reading, as do Chris’s detours into his travels to India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Israel, where he acted in a production of the musical Hair.

But, as well as entertaining us with his wonderful memories, Chris, accompanied by his fellow musicians – Elliet Mackrell on violin and the two Pauls (Atkinson on drums and O’Reilly on bass) – will round off the Festival with a string of fabulous numbers designed to set your hands clapping and your toes tapping!

His most recent album was described as ‘a joyful, life-enhancing album by a man well versed in a whole range of musical styles.’ We are confident that his event in Wedmore Village Hall will deliver the same exhilarating effect.

‘I love his personal account of the Stones’ early days. In addition … Chris offers anecdotes about other musicians such as Little Richard and Jimi Hendrix.’ Michael Doherty
